How to cleanse and charge your stones or minerals

Before starting to work with each stone, it is advisable to cleanse its energy.

1. Physical cleaning

Running water.
Run each stone under the tap for a few seconds to remove dust or any other residue. Then dry it with a soft cloth. Caution! Some stones/minerals are damaged by water . Some examples of minerals that do not tolerate water are: selenite, calcite, malachite, lapis lazuli, angelite, azurite, pyrite, fluorite, turquoise, halite... In these cases, skip step 1 and start with step 2.

2. Energy cleansing

After the water, it's time to release the accumulated energy. You can do this in different ways:

🔹 With smoke (incense or smudging)

Light white sage, palo santo, or any cleansing incense such as rue, sandalwood, myrrh, or dragon's blood. Pass your stones through the smoke for a few seconds while visualizing what no longer serves you dissipating.

🔹 With aromas

  • Pass the stones through the steam of a diffuser with cleansing oils (rosemary, myrrh, rue, sandalwood…).

  • Or moisten a cotton ball with a few drops of essential oil and gently rub it over each stone. (Only for hard stones)

  • You can also use a natural purifying essence spray and spray it on top (Only for hard stones)

Avoid this method with porous or sensitive minerals such as those mentioned above.

🔹 With sound

Place your stones inside a Tibetan singing bowl and vibrate it counterclockwise.
If you work with the Isis pendulum, you can also use it to release energy blockages.

🔹 With coarse salt

Use it with hard stones that tolerate it well, such as quartz, obsidian, jasper, aventurine, or tiger's eye.
Place some coarse salt in a bowl and put the stone on top. Leave it for a few hours and then remove it.
The salt is discarded afterwards.

3. Activation

Once they are clean, their energy needs to be activated.
You can do it with:

🔹 Sound

Using the Tibetan singing bowl, but this time in a clockwise direction (or the pendulum).

🔹 Reiki

Or any energy technique.

🔹 Sunlight or moonlight

Moonlight or sunlight , depending on the type of stone.

How to carry the stones

🌕 With the Moon

Place your stones under the light of the Full Moon , ideally all night.
This is the most powerful charging time for white, blue, or violet crystals.

☀️ With the Sun

Only some stones tolerate direct sunlight: red, orange, or yellow ones .
A few hours of soft light is all it takes.
The green ones can be charged by both the sun and the moon.
Direct sunlight is fatal to Rose Quartz, Amethyst, Fluorite, Ametrine, and Citrine . Take great care.
Red Jasper, Carnelian, and Tiger's Eye withstand sunlight better.

(You can consult the lunar calendar to choose the best time to charge).

4. Program your stones

Once purified and charged, comes the most personal step: setting their intention .
Hold the stone with your non-dominant hand, close your eyes and focus your energy on the purpose you wish to imbue it with.
Visualize that intention filling the stone until you feel it come alive.

Stones have memory, so they will retain that vibration. Prevent other people from handling them; if someone touches them, simply repeat the cleansing and recharging process.
